VARYING PROPOSALS
. The "Unemployment Board at the present time is faced with proposals from local bodies in tho main centres differing widely in, constitution, it was stated today. In Wellington the City Council is evidently still urging upon the board to provide overhead costs for ordinary No. 5 scheme ■ employment, while it appears that in Auckland city proposals havo been put forward by the City Council which, if agreed to by tho board, will result in all No. 5 jobs being worked at standard rates of pay, the additional money being provided by tho City Council. The Mount Albert Borough has put up prposals which, if agreed to by tho board, will result in tho starting of standard works sufficient to employ all tho No. i 5 scheme men there at full time at j standard rates of pay. j THE BUILDING SCHEME. Applications are being received \ rapidly by the Unemployment Board for the subsidy under the No. 12 build- \ ing scheme. To date 400 applications have been received, of which 105 have been approved of a total value of approximately £64,000. Tho applications aro from all parts of Now Zealand. . ■ .■ '
