Letters of greeting and good will were received at a meeting of the Yorkshire Society of New Zealand this week from Viscount Halifax, Mr. J. B. Priestley, Miss Phyllis Bentley, and tho Very Rev. Dean Inge. Replying' to a letter from the society conveying appreciation of the services given to New Zealand by the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe), his Excellency wrote thanking the society and expressing his warm regard for Yorkshire and its people. Mr. E. Bold gave a dialect reading, which was much appreciated, and Dr. Guy H. Scholefield delivered an interesting address on Samuel Marsden.
