PLEA REVERSED
When Harold' Charles Martin, a factory hand, aged 28, appoaredin the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning on three criminal charges, he ' pleaded not guilty to one alleging that he stole £1 7s, the property of Jimmy Kwing, and he was remanded to appear at Stratford tomorrow. When the Court resumed yesterday afternoon, Martin again appeared, and through his counsel, Mr. W. P. Rollings, changed his plea to one of -guilty, but stated that the amount involved in the charge was os, and not £1 7s. After Detective-Sergeant Revell had outlined the circumstances leading up to the charge and Mr. Rollings had made his submissions, the Magistrate (Mr. E. Page) sentenced the accused to two months' imprisonment.
