NATIONAL DOUBLE MARKET.

The National double market was held at Addington today, but clue to shipping troubles the North Island was practically unrepresented by fat stock, only four ..coming forward. There were outstanding lines from the south of both sheep and cattle. Store sheep: A small entry of aged ewes for most part, and values recovered a little of last week's easing. Spring lambs: 20 came forward and sold unevenly at from 30s to 48s. Fat Sheep.—6ooo were entered, and included many of good quality, but not up to the usual national standard. The best wether price was 42s lOd, arid ewe 29s 7d. Show wethers made to 42s 10d; extra prime, 29s to 31s; prime heavy, 26s to 28s; medium weight prime, 23s to 25s Od; ordinary, 20s to 22s 6d; light, to 19s. Show ewes', to 29s 7d; extra prime heavy, 25s 6d to 26s 6d; prime heavy, 23s 6d to 25s'; medium weight prime, 20s 6d to 235; ordinary, 17s 6d to 20s; light, to 17s. ' Fat Cattle.—6os Were penned, and apart from eight to ten show bullocks, the entry was of ordinary quality. An advance of up to 20s per head was recorded on last week, the top price being £20 for a North Island bullock. Prime beef made from 255, a few pens making up to 29s per 1001b; prime heavy, from 22s 'to 245; plain heavy, 19s to 21s Id; secondary beef, 16s 6d to 19s; arid rough, down to / 14s. Show bullocks made £16 to £20; extra prime heavy steers, £11 5s to £14 ss; prime heavy, £9 5s to £11; prime medium weight, £8 to £10; ordinary, £5 10s to £7 10s; light, to £5. Extra prime heifers to £11 17s 6d; prime, £6 to £8 10s; ■ ordinary, £4 5s to £5 15s; light, to £4; extra prime cows, to £8 17s 6d; prime, £5 10s to £7,105; ordinary, £3 jlos to £5; light and aged, to '£3 10s. Store cattle: A nondescript entry with no quotable,lines. . Fat Pigs.—A good-sized entry,, and a firm sale. A ; . giant sow of about 10001b live weight1 sold at £20. Choppers made 50s to £6; baconers, 47s 6d to £3 14s 6d; average price per lb, 4%d to sd. Porkers, 25s 6d to £2 Is. 6d; average price per lb, 5d to 5%d. Store .pigs: Values were a shade easier. Weaners, 9s 6d to 14s Id; stores,. 14s fid to 255.
