FRIENDLY RELATIONS
CYCLING SETTLEMENT
Officials who have taken a prominent part in the discussion over the question of tho administration of amateur .cycling - and .tlioso responsible .for the agreement signed recently were entertained at supper on Saturday night. Mr. A. A. Nattrass presided. Others present were Messrs. E. AY. McVilly and ti. A. Tracy, president and secretary respectively of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association; G. Harrison, O. W. McConchie, G. S. Leeder, L. Logan, G. S. Bright, A. C. Kitto (president of the AVellington Centre), C. Willis, H. Dutton, and Lacey. Miv H. D. Bennett was unable to attend.
Mr. Nattrass explained that the AVellington Centre of the League of AVheelmen was going out of- existence, and they wished to leave a good impression behind, seeing that now there appeared every probability of the cycling question being settled. Mr. McVilly said that as far as he was concerned he- was pleased to see the cyclists come to a settlement. The N.Z.A.A.A. had always played its part in regard to cyclists. He hoped that the agreement come to would be a solution of the difficulties.
Mr. Kitto stressed the fact that the Wellington Athletic Centre and the N.Z.A.A.A. had always given tho cyclists the benefit of their organisation and had always treated them in the same manner as the athletes. He was pleased to see they had come to an agreement, and he hoped the officials concerned would immediately put their scheme into operation.
