ADVISORY COMMITTEES

The final meeting of the year of the board of governors of Wellington Technical College was held last evening. Mr. W. H. Bennett, chairman/ presided.

The report o£ the members of the motor engineering advisory committee stated that they had inspected the work done at the examinations aud by the classes in the workshop. They were completely satisfied with the standard of work set in tho theoretical classes dealing with motor work and with the amount covered during the year. The results of the examinations showed that the students had been interested and''had received considerable benefit from the work. The change made in the type of work done in the workshops this year was proving b.eneficial; the tasks set the boys were such as could not be I performed in the ordinary course cf emIployment of tho apprentices and represented just what was necessary in that all-round training required. The members of the plumbing advisory committee in their report said they considered that the standard of work waa I very good.

Compliments' were paid by the art advisory committee to the work done by Miss Wilkie and her students in the embroidery class, and to Mr. Ellis and his students in the modelling class.

Satisfaction was expressed by the mechanical engineering advisory committee' at the work which had been done by the studi ents in the mechanical engineering section of the college.

The Students' Association Tennis Club forwarded a donation o£ £12 5s 3d to the fund for school books, etc., for necessitous students attending the college. This made a total gift of £Gl. The boavd thanked the association for its thoughtful gift.
