THE O.F. NELSON CASE
SEDITION CHARGES
The Samoan correspondent of the Press Association writes that on November 28, beforo Chief Justice iLuxford at the High Court of Apia, Olaf Frederick Nelson was charged with breaches of the Samoan seditious organisations regulations.
The charges against him are that ho (1) identified himself with the Mau, a seditious organisation; (2) used his premises for a meeting held by a seditious organisation; (3) attended and took part in a formal gathering of Samoans known as a taalolo, in contravention of the ordinance for the maintenance of authority in native affairs; (4) participated inactivities of a seditious organisation by meeting and associating with members of the Mau and by advising and assisting such members; (a) aided, abetted, and encouraged the activities of the Mau in letters and articles in the "Samoa Guardian,' 1 commonly known as the Mau newspaper; (6) addressed a meeting at' Vaimosa held for the purposes of a seditious organisation; (7) had in his possession certain documents and other papers relat&g to Mau activities. The hearing was fixed for December 18.
