CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
The Christinas party held by the Wellington Caledonian Society, is one of the two functions held for the benefit of the children of members each year, tho other being Hallowe'en. The Allen Street Hall was-crowded on Saturday evening for the occasion, the children having a gay time. The Christmas tree was aJi attraction, being gaily lit with little electric globes of varied colours, with its branches heavily laden with gifts. "Father Christinas," arriving in darkness to , the accompaniment of weird sounds, caused great excitement, which did not subside untileach child had received a gift. Games of all sorts were enjoyed by the children, who were provided with ice creams, jellies, sweets, and soft drinks.
After supper there was dancing for the grown-ups—old-time, modern, and Scots movements—with Mr. J. Stirling as M.C. During the evening Margaret Oates gave an exhibition of a novelty dance, Grade McKay a skipping dance, and Master Peter Curry an Irish jig. The Pipe Band, also gave a number of. selections. ■
