LABORATORY SPACE
A TECHNICAL COLLEGE NEED
No technical college in Now Zealand serving the needs of 'so many students is so handicapped for laboratory accommodation as is the Wellington Technical College, according to a .remark mado by the principal (Mr. R. G-. Ridling) at the annual prize-giv-ing ceremony yesterday. Mr. Ridling said that; the home science section, was compelled to use the room designed for the physics laboratory and a complete homo science course could only be carried out with difficulty under such inadequate and unsuitable conditions. The engineering section, because of this arrangement, had been compelled to carry, on without a phj'sics laboratory, and the mechanics work was conducted in a corner of the heat engines room. He urged the completion of the home scienco section of the building, so that the public might receive that service to which they were entitled from the home science* and engineering departments.'
