INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES
Mention haa been made previously of the possibility of a New Zealand team of athletes being invited to compete in Victoria in 1935 during the centenary celebrations. Further information to hand discloses that the Victorian A.A.A. has in view an international meeting between American, British, Australian, and New Zealand' representatives, with the possibility afterwards of the internationals making a tour of the other States and also New Zealand. In outlining the sctieme, Mr. H. B. Weir, secretary of the Victorian A.A.A., said that nothing more ambitious had yet been undertaken by the association. It is more than likely that the following champions will be sought:—Ben Bastman (middle distance runner), Frank Spitz (high jumper), and Balph. Metcalfo (spirinter), of U.S.A.; TWomas Hampson (middle distance), D. O. Finlay (hurdler), and E. L. Page (sprinter), of England.
