INTERHOUSE GIRLS' ASSOCIATION
To celebrate the successful conclusion of the first display by the members of the Wellington Interhouse Girls' Association, a picture evening and supper was held last Thursday. This was made possible by the generosity of the firms affiliated to the movement, and over two hundred ladies and friends took advantage p'f the invitation. At the conclusion of the picture programme an enjoyable supper was held. The chairman, Mr. J. J. Abel, congratulated the girls on their fine performance during Confidence Week, and asked Mr. A. P. Smith, president of the association, to present the James Smith Cup to the captain of Messrs. Bryant and May's team, winners of the marching and drill displays. Mr. Smith paid tribute to the'wholehearted, enthusiasm, shown by the girls, and trusted that the enthusiasm would be maintained, and that material physical benefit would accrue. Beference was also made by the president to the next Easter Show, when it was hoped that the girls would show the same enthusiasm to their association. He then presented the handsome cup, Mr. W. McLay responding on behalf of the team. Other members of the executive who were present included Messrs. J. G. Marshall, C. Stone, H. V. Poole, E. Cowie, Evans, jun., V. Clifford, and Davis.
