UNIVERSITY WOMEN
ANNUAL. DINNER PARTY
The annual supper party, given by the University Women's Club was held recently in the pleasant club rooms, Lambton Quay. The brightly-lit rooms and the long supper tables were, gay with bowls of roses and sweet peas, while masses of hydrangeas added a colourful note to the decorative scheme. An entertaining programme was opened with a health toast to the president and vice-pre-sidents, proposed by Miss Van Staveren, and responded to by Mrs. Sommerville. Songs by Miss Priestley, elocutionary items by Miss Matthews, and two amusing competitions were appreciated by the members. Later Barries one-act play, "The Twelve Pound Look" was read by Mesdames' Green, Baldwin, Powles, and Yaldwyn. A short speech by Miss Watson, and the singing oC "Auld Lang Syne" marked the end of what was undoubtedly one of th» happiest functions of the year,
