EAST AFRICAN COFFEE.

The' secretary of East Africa Coffee Plantations, Ltd., Melbourne, has advised that the nominal capital of the company is now £250,000, divided into 500,000 shares of 10s each. Of such capital, 150,000 shares haye, been issued and are all credited as paid up to lps each. The time for receiving applications in connection with tlie new issue of 30,000 shares expired on October 11 last. Of the 30,000 shares offered for subscription 16,500 have been applied for. The directors are now making efforts to place further shares. Recent reports from the plantations, the secretary states, would indicate,that the outlook for the company 'is bright.. . Good rains have fallen at Kiambu, and the crop is now being gathered. Further good reports have been received from the visiting agent. On October 10 last 100 tons of this year's crop had been gathered, and there seems no doubt that the estimate of 326 tonß for the geasoa will be realised.
