LUNA LUX TAKES EYE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. Luna Lux attracted attention when he went out to do useful pace work at Riccarton this- morning. He looks a very fit horse as the result of a solid prepat-a-tion. He may be schooled over the country tomorrow. The three horses that J. H. Jefferd has at Riccartou moved freely in half-mile sprints this morning. Cylinder appears to have done well since he won the Parliamentary Handicap at Trontham last mouth. His three-year-old half-brother Cyclonic is well, and Bay Tree, another of the same age, looks a good .sort. Callamart and Omeo went well in useful pace work .this morning, and look at their best for the Grand National. So far no definite arrangements have been i announced for the riding of Omeo. ' I T. R. George has Makeup, Landmark, Korero, and Croupier looking in great order, and they did strong pace work this .morning. During his spell from racing Croupier has grown into a handsome horse of commanding appearance and he seems to have done a lot of work, as he looks very forward. George holds him in very high regard. He will train him till the end of the meeting and then will hand him over to C. Emerson. .
