UPPER HUTT BOROUGH
The report of the Town Clerk (Mr. E. C. Major)'- presented to the meeting of the * Upper Hutt Borough Council last evening stated that the receipts for the month ended July 31 amounted to- £129. Instructions had been given for notices to be issued to owners of properties where noxious weeds exist. It was decided to allow relief workers to pay 2s 6d a week towards the registration fees of their dogs. It was decided to accept the same percentage'of heavy traffic fees as last year. A letter from seven residents of Silverstream asked for an additional street lamp jn the eastern end of Chatsworth Road, Silverstream, but the council decided that the request could not be granted.
