INTERPROVINCIAL GAMES

Mr. W. B. Hicks presided over a meeting of the Wellington Football Association last night.

The Nelson Football Association wrote asking for a visit from a Wellington, representative team or a Wellington club team. A jSteamer fare concession and a grant from the association would reduce the amount of the fare to be paid by each man to £2. The Nelson Association offered to billet the players and give the net gate to the visiting team. It .was. decided to advise clubs of Nelson's offer, and if none could send a team to ask them to submit names of players willing "to travel.

A letter from the New' Zealand Football Association said that it would ask the Auckland Football Association to play Wellington on the Saturday after the F.A. Trophy match, • Otago v. Auckland, which would probably be played on September 2. There was a move on foot for Auckland to play Westland on the Wednesday after the trophy match. The New Zealand Association had also suggested to Auckland that it should find a secondary schools' team to play against a Wellington team as a curtain-raiser to the Chatham Cup final.

Notification was received from the, New Zealand Football Association of alterations in the dates of the district matches for the Chatham Cup. The Wellington v. Manawatu match would be played on August 5, and the winners would play the Auckland winners either at' Auckland or at Hamilton on August 12.

A decision was made that Wellington players in all Chatham Cup games th's season are to be covered' by the accidentinsurance rules.

An Island Bay player whom the association considered guilty of ungentlemanly conduct in a recent match against N.A.D.A. appeared to make an explanation. He was cautioned. The other Island Bay player involved in the trouble has not yet appeared before the association, and is suspended until he does.

The junior B match, Technical v. Institute, in which according to the referee's report the Technical team refused to participate last Saturday, was awarded to Institute. .

The transfer was granted of J. Hale from Island Bay to Diamond .-junior B.

The- following first B division fixtures were approved of for Saturday, August n:—lsland Bay v. Onslow, Anderson Park; Miramar Rangers v. Stop Out, Rongotai; Rovers v. N.A.D.A., Anderson Park; Seatoun v. Institute Old Boys, Basin Reserve No. 2. First A.division fixtures for August o will not be made up till next week.
