DOGS AT AGRICULTURAL SHOWS
The question of rocognising only those kennel clubs: affiliated.with the long-established New Zealand Kennel Club was discussed at the conference of the Auckland provincial council of agricultural and pastoral associations, states the "New Zealand Herald." The club asked that rules should b« adopted to permit only recognised and affiliated kennel clubs to function with agricultural associations. It was felt by the club that such a decision would stabilise the present kennel institutions and would discourage competitive organisations. The, secretary to tha council (Mr. W. T. O'Donell) mentioned the effects of a breach several years ago in the operation of dog shows in Auckland, the result being the holding of a number of competitive shows. The council decided to support the Kennel Club's suggestion.
