LADY NOEL DESTROYED

[ While galloping on the grass at Trentham on Saturday morning, H. L. Kingan's four-year-old mare, Lady Noel (Lackham —Lady Kotiripo), slipped and broke a leg, and she was subsequently destroyed. Lady Noel had not done much racing to date, being allowed time to mature, then developing slight lameness last season. Eecently she had been galloping in attractive fashion, and she was expected to go well in the maiden race at Otaki, for which she had been accepted. She was always rather an unlucky horse, and only recently she was one of those who failed to link up with the boat for the. Nelson Meeting when it finally left after being delayed by the shipping hold-Up.
