TREASURY BILLS DISCOUNT
EFFECT OF FRESH REDUCTION
MELBOUENE, May 10. Senator Massy Greene, chairman of the Loan, Council, has announced that tho Commonwealth Bank proposed to discount Treasury Bills from Juno 1 at 2£ per cent., which represents a further reduction of i per cent, in the discount rate, • The rate has been progressively reduced since July, 1031, from 6 to 2$ per cent. ■ The latest reduction will mean a saving to the various Governments of £130,000, "
