MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Cuses at the Magistrate's Court won; dealt with' yesterday by Sir; E. Page, S.M. Desmond Ivan l'errin, a musician; aged 26, who was recently sentenced at. the Supreme Court, to one year's reformative detention on a chai'&e o£ breaking and entering, appeared for sentence on a summary charge involving the theft of a watch. On this charge Perria was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months if called upon. A remand until Friday Was granted in the case of Leonard George Mayo, agcl 44, who was charged with stealing a diamond ring valued at £50. On a charge of being found unlawfully in Odlin's Taranaki Street timber yard, George Pcreival David Smith, a motor mechanic, aged 28, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months if called upon. On a further charge of stealing a brief bag and other articles valued at £11 17s,- the accused was remanded to appear at Christchurch tomorrow. Martin Carr, aged 31, was remanded until tomorrow on a charge of breaking ami entering the shop of J. W. Smith I at 198 Taranaki Street. . ' I A remand until May, 16 was granted in the case of Brian Charles McCarthy, aged 23, who was charged with stealing a suit and an overcoat valued at £8 14s, "the j property of Samuel Beattie. j
