FIVE CANDIDATES
DUNEDIN MAYORALTY
(Special to "The Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, This Day. Not for many years has the Mayoral election created so much interest. Five candidates are in the field, Mr. R. S. Black (the sitting Mayor), Councillor P. W. Mitcholl (chairman of tho council's Finance Committee), tho Eov. J3. T. Cox (a Methodist minister, who is standing ,in tho interests of tho relief workers), Mr. C. Moss (Labour and business), and Mr. M. O'Korko (Communist). Mr. Cox's entry in tho £eld means tho splitting of Mr. Black's vote, while Mr. Moss and Mr. O'Borko are also likely to tako a few away from Mr. Black, who has already had two terms as Mayor. Councillor Mitchell, on the other hand, is sure to poll a'big silent and business voto which invariably" tells in tho Mayoral election. Labour is contesting seats on tho council, Harbour Board, and Hospital Board, Mr. J. W. Munro, M.P.,' who is at present a city, councillor; and Mr. F. Jones, M.P., being two o£ its candidates. '
