A GARDEN PARTY
Despite many attractions elsewhere, the recent garden party held by the Wainui-o-mata Women's Institute was well attended by members and friends. Miss Amy Kane, in a pleasing speech, opened the garden party, and spoke of the good work done by the institutes in country districts. A beautiful bouquet of pink-shaded dahlias and autumn leaves was presented to Miss Kane by Margaret Wood, the small daughter of a vice-president.
Stalls were arranged as follows:— Fancy g^ods, in charge of Mesdames Burrow and Heathcote; produce, Mrs. Callis; sweets and ice-cream, Misses L. and M..White. Various competitions, games, golf, and quoits helped to make the afternoon a success, and tea, aranged on small tables uiider the trees'in the garden, was a feature of tho afternoon," and was under the supervision of Mrs. Len Wood.
An enjoyable time was spent by all attending, and the thanks of the niem-t bers are extended to all who helped to make the party so successful.
