M. Frej'sinnet, a well-known engineer, has prepared plans of a tower in reinforced concrete, twice the height of the Eiffel Tower, 2300 feet, to he ready for the Exhibition in 1937, hoping to repeat the sensations 31. Eiffel caused at the Exhibition in 1889. The estimated coat is £440,000 to £550,000.

The first platform, at 1640 feet, will be reached by motor-cars and charabancs by means of inclined ways. The second platform, at 1968 feet, will bereached by special cars.

At the very summit will be a solarium, where- a sun-cure will bo possible, also a gigantic beacon.

M. Frcysinnet suggests that the new tower of Babel be called the lighthouse of the world.

The Eiffel Tower, 984 feet high, built of iron, was erected in. ISB9 in the Champ-de-Mars, Paris for the Exhibition 'of that year. The general form is that of a concave pyramid with a base 336 feet square. There are three platforms at different heights, the top one, at 900 feet, being covered by a glass pavilion, 54 feet square.
