PHILATELIST KNIGHTED
Mr. Edward Denny Bacon, the ■wellknown, philatelist, was knighted and invested with the K.C.V.O. by the King at Buckingham Palace recently. Sir Edward is the curator of the King's philatelic collections at Buckingham Palace, and is a past president of the Royal Philatelic Society, London. Sir Edward was responsible for the arrangement of the Tapling collection of stamps, which was bequeathed by the late T. K. Tapling to the British Museum, and his advice is often sought by the musuem on stamp matters.
