TEN MONTHS' FIGURES

Revenue from power sales made by the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board" during the ten months ended January 31 showed a slight decrease compared with that' obtained during the corresponding ten months of the previous year. The revenue to the nearest pound was reported to the board meeting yesterday as follows, the figures for the previous period being given in parentheses:—Domestic lighting, £31,299 (£32,710); commercial lighting, £8241 (£7738); heating and cooking, £18,868 (£17,133); water heating,. £743*3 (£7182); power, £20,353 (£21,749); street lighting, £3663 (£3816). Discounts allowed amounted to £8413 (£7056), making the net revenue for the ten months, £81,444 (£83,271). . Statistical returns for January, with totals to date iin parentheses, were presented as follows:—Number of installations, 7 (11.132); ranges, 3 (1480); water.heaters, 3 (1341). The connected load in k.w. was 101 (40,632), made up of light, 7 (5026); heat, 62 .(27,807); and power, 32 (7799). The maximum demand for the I month was 2640 k.v.a. from Melling at 11.45 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at .88 power factor, and 1854 k.v.a. from Khandallah at 11.45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11,' at .87 power factor. Units registered for the month totalled 1,062,400 from Melling and 768,300 from Khandallah. It was reported that reinspection work in the Eastbourne district was now being done on the block system, which would be continued till the completion of the whole district. '
