LODGE MEETINGS

The quarterly meeting of Pacific Lodge, U.A.0.D., -was held last week, A.D. Bro. B. G. Davis presiding. The district president, Bro. .W. Jennings, paid an official visit and was received with the honours of the order. .The bards reported on sick brethren, and sick pay was passed accordingly. ..The election of officers resulted as follows:—A.D., Bro. Bro. J. S. Riddick, N.G., presided over the recent meeting of Loyal Britannia Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows. Two candidates were initiated. Reports were received and accepted from the sick visitors. Bro; Saunders reported on the recent visit "of. Loyal Manawatu Lodge, Palmerston North. When lodge business had concluded, a degree lecture was held, when a number of members were advanced to various degrees in the Order. Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, met for its visual meetmg with Bro. Courtenay, N.G., presiding. The lodge extended congratulations to Bro. Wellwood on his winning Bro. Turner's Merit Jewel as the best L.M. in the recent ritual competition. Lodge honours were also extebtfed to him. Nominations of officers for the ensuing term were received as follows:—N.G., Bro. At the last meeting of Loyal Antipodean Irodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, a vote, of condolence was passed in silence to the relatives of the late Bro. G. B.S. Bead; delegate Medical Institute, Bro. A. Guise. The regular fortnightly meeting of Maraenui Lodge was held at Mirainar last week, Bro. W. Torkington, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Two new members trefe admitted into the Order. Bro. Nieol with a jewel on behalf of the lodge. It was decided to pay an official visit, to Wellesley . Juvenile Lodge.: A motion was tabled calling for an extraordinary special meeting on 20th December "to'cleaT with a nia'ttev"affecting the Order generally.
