Both Mr. Hope and Mr. McWhanncll aro old boys of Wellington College. Mr. McWhannell is the son of Mr. P. McWhannell, of Moxham avenue, a wellknown bowler. Ho was able to fly solo after , threo and a half hours' dual instruction/passing the tests for his A licence in October. He was engaged in the Customs Department.
