GURR-MCDOWELL.
The -wedding was solemnised recently at St. Andrew's Church, Wellington, of Gladys Dorothy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. McDowell, llalaitai.
and Ernest Kobert, elder son of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. B. Gurr, Gravcsend, Kent, England. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of peach lace and mariette, made on fitting lines to below the hips, from where it fell in flares to the ground. Her embroidered veil was arranged well back on the head and held in place with tiny rosebuds. She carried a sheaf of peach and cream roses. Tho. bride's sister, Miss Alison McDowell, who was bridesmaid, wore a long graceful gown of turquoise mariette. Her hat was of felt to tone, and she carried a bouquet of apricot roses. Mr. Alan McDowell was best man. A reception was held at the Eitz, the bride's mother wearing a gown of wine marocain, with a black Baku straw hat and carrying cream and dark red roses. Tho bride travelled in an almond ! green crepe satin dress, with-'hat to tone, and a musquash fur coat. ■• ■ -
