AFTERNOON PARTY
MRS. MORRAH AT HOME
Mrs. Horton and her daughter, who recently arrived from England to visit Mrs. Horton's mother, Mrs. J. E. Fulton, Grant road, were the guests of honour at a delightful tea party given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Morrah at her home in Murphy street. Chrysanthomums in delicate shades of mauve were arranged; with charming effect irt the drawing-room, and on the tea -table were Iceland . and narcissi. Mrs. Morrah "wore a; frock of mole satin: Jvith, a vestee of champagne colour. Her daughter, Mrs. Claude Batten, was in a patterned crepe de-chine frock. Mrs. Fulton wore a black satin frock patterned-with small flowers, a black sealskin coat; and a black velvet hat. Mrs. H6rton wore a brown ensemble with three-quarter length coat and a brown'hat; and Miss Horton was in a coat and skirt, of Irish green and a black sailor hat. The guests included kady. ATHENIAN CLUB
The fourth gathering of the season of the Athenian Club held last Wednesday evening proved a great .success, there being a very large attendance of members and visitors. The executiveof the Charley's Aunt Club, who were the guests of the evening, were welcomed by Mr. J. C. Burberry (president) wtih a few well-chosen remarks. Mr. M. E. Nolan (secretary) in the absence. bf the president of the visiting executive suitably replied. Mr. E. A. Batt, a past member and the first president of the Athenian Club, was ajjig present,, aftd p,n- being welcomed, replied paying compliment to the club's" advancement di recent years. Mr. i-.'M. Sherwood: replied. The arrangements, for .the evening were in the hands of the hon. secretary (Mr. W. J. Anderson) and Mrs. C.'M.
