ANNUAL REPORTS

THE WELLINGTON CLUB

The forty-sixth annual/report of the Wellington Bowling. Club, to be presented to' members, on 29th June-, records that the club's welfare has progressed satisfactorily in spite >bi the: difficult times, thanks to members, ladjes, and officers.

As in 1931, inclement weather interfered, with the. club's programme, and several competitions were delayed, but through the endeavours o£ the match committee all events were disposed of. The results of the various, championship, trophy, and outside competitions, and games in which club, members took part are set out. One hundred and twentyeight veterans took part in the annual veterans' tournament, the club's repre^ setitatives, Messrs. J. Gallic, H. Brice, J. Rennie, and G. E. Brown being the winners; ' During the season the competitions for the Bush Ferns were revived: the present holders are Mr. A. Simpson, Dr. W.Ewart, Messrs. L. McKelvie and W. Waddell. Thanks are accorded the Press for reports of meetings, fixtures.and games. ■ ■ .. ; ' .-..'■

The directors record with profound regret the deaths during the last year o£ Messrs. E. A. Armstrong, T. Bush, I. Salek, and P. J. Griffin: Mr. T; Bush was in 1907 president of the club, and in

1920-21 was president of. the Dominion Bowling Associatiop. His death was a great blow to the club. The deepest sympathy is expressed to his family.' The late Mr. I. Salek was from 1912 to 1931 honorary treasurer of the club, and filled the position with credit, to himself and
