EMBARGO IMPOSED
IMPORTED VEGETABLES
Consequent upon a recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease- among swine in California, the Government has decided to impose an embargo on vegetables and other ground products from that State. Live stock, hay, and straw packing, and other material likoJy to carry infection are aready prohibited. The Caifornian authorities have dealt effectively >ith the outbreak, but it is considered desirable in order to avoid any possible risk to extend the present prohibitions as stated. Tree fruits and grapes are not involved in the decision.
