ANNUAL MEETINGS (By "Xperturo.") The annual general meeting of the "Evening Post" Club was held od 22nd March. Mr. M. Marshall presided over an enthusiastic gathering. The result of the election of officers for the forthcoming season was ab follows: — Patron, Mr. L. P. Blundell; president, Mr. W. Blundell; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. P. F. Blunaell. E. Blundell. L. Hastings; club captain, Mr. H. Nickless; hon. secretary, Miss B. Knell; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Hanley; hon. auditor, Mr. E. Loader; W.M.B.A. delegates, Messrs. H. Nickless and W. Jamieson; management committee, Messrs. Henry, Jamieson, Goldsbrough, Earl, Allan, Bradley, and Fife. 4 The report and balance sheet for the 1931 season, which showed a satisfactory credit balance, was read and unanimously adopted, and much general business was dealt with. The opportunity was taken to make the presentation of trophies won during last season. The main items of the prize list are as follows:— Champion shot, Mr. H. Nickless; runner-up, Mr. J. Henry; handicap aggregate, Mr. Hi Nickless; runners-up, Messrs. J. Henry and M. Marshall (equal) ; 10-sl\ot competition, Mr. K. McDowall. - '. • The club's 1932 season will open officially on sth April, but there have been practices held during the past three weeks. PETOHE CENTRAL CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Petone Central Club, held in the club range, was exceptionally well attended. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. \V. Nash. M.P.; life members, Messrs. R. .W. McVilly, and A. H. Wild; president, Mr. A. E. Ffrost; deputy president. Sir. R. '-H. Pugh; club captain, Mr. F. Brocklebank; vice-captain, Mr. J. Braid; treasurer and scorer, Mr. J. Bevine. . / . . .... ■ .. The report disclosed a very satisfactory position. Reference was made to the club' 3 new home in Udy street, Petone, the official opening of which was performed jointly by the club's patron, Mr. Nash. M.P., and the Mayor, Mr. McKenzie, on 14th March, 1931. The sterling assistance of certain public spirited gentlemen were greatly appreciated, notably; Messrs. McVilly and Wild, who were elected life members. A very fine tribute was accorded the club's president, Mr. A. E. Ffrost, whose unremitting efforts,- ably supported by club officials and a most efficient ladies' committee, culminated in excellent range accommodation. "The heartfelt thanks of the club," the report said, "are due to these ladies and gentlemen for the very fine spirit they have-shown, .and for the many sacrifices they have made in order that we may enjoy this, great convenience." New members were being specially welcomemd. and catered for in regard to their efficiency as marksmen. In reference to club competitions the report read: "Our congratulations are extended to Mr. J. C. Devine as club champion and winner of the McGhie Memorial.Cup on his vpry excellent shooting, and to Mr. H. Wflodhead (a new member), as winner of the B grade aggregate. Through the generosity of many of our supporters a very handsome list of trophies was made available, and created keen competition among our members.
