TITAHI CLUB
The competition for the Anniversary Cup, presented by the directors of the Titahi Golf Club, Ltd., was played during the weekend, the club's second anniversary at Titahi. The entry was very large and the scoring good under the difficult conditions, the greens being most fiery and treacherous in pace. The winner was f>. Collett with 83-IS—65, a. good performance. The runner-up was A. Moore, who played a. very fine steady round of 7S, the best score of the day, for a' net score of' 6S: Next, best were 1?. Caughley (19) and R. G. Mexted (21) C 9 net. TL Boon, senr. (10) 70, C. Stone (20) and E. H. Watts (24) 71, A. C. Blow (G) 74. P. J. Murphy (11) and W. Gilchrist (20) 75, J. W. Gibson (5), P. A. Crombie (10), F. B. Carr (11), H. A. Bown (18), A. Lulham (18), W. Spiller (20) 76, J. A. Tunnington (20), 77. WAIWETU CLUB During the week-end a. bogey competition was played on the Waiwetu links for the weekly tvophy and Summer Cup points. The winning card was returned by Mrs. L. M'Kay with the. good score of 3 up, the next best being that of A. Stunnell, with 1 up. Most players are finding that the advantage gained by long shots through the fairways is more than lost by the fast and tricky nature of th« greens. Opportunity was taken of making a presentation from members of the club to the club captain, Mr. if. Firth, on the occasion of his marriage. The president of the club, Mr. Geo. Cook, in wishing the recipients all good fortune in the future, referred to the keen interest which Mr. Firth had always shown in the welfare of the club, and particularly to his impartiality in carrying out his various duties. The gifts, which consisted of an ornamental mirror to. Mr. Firth, and v silver hoi water jug to Mrs. Firth, were suitably acknowledged by Mr. Firth.
