ELEVEN GOALS,

After having led 4-2 in the first half, Marist were beaten by Waterside, the fanal score being 6-5. The game was played in a strong wind, which was very gusty at times, and in the second spell play was in Watersiders' half on two or three occasions only. Marist scored their last goal in the final couple of minutes, and then very nearly equalised. ' Kelly, one of the Marist's backs, was injured, and the team played the-entire second spell with ten men only. The teams were as follows:— , Waterside.—Ogg; Abernethy, Bolton; M'Lellan, Haines, Cummings; Dunlop, Dunsmuir, Longbottotn, Ferguson, Culleu. Playing" with the wind, Marist scored two goals in the first ten minutes. Each was from a corner taken by Barton, Scott heading the first, and Condon netting the second by shooting from closo quarters. Marist 2, Waterside 0. A high .dropping shot was. caved, but not cleared, by Turkington, and in the rebound, Ferguson netted. Marist 3, Waterside 1. Play close to the Marist goal almost brought a score, but the final effort made by Ferguson was weak. Within a short time Waterside had again netted. A nice effort by Cullen resulted in play being taken up to Marist's goal. The winger transferred to Ferguson, who in turn sent the leather to the centre, and Lqngbottom shot. Turkington apparently misjudged the strength of the cross-Wirid,-.and the ball found the net. Marist 3, Waterside. .2. The. game continued to be fast and bright;-and the next goal, which fell to Marist, came rather unexpectedly. When the leather came in from the Marist leffc wing, a Waterside back back-heeledj and Condon came up quickly to take 'advantage of a mistake, sending home a 'stinging shot. Marist 4, Waterside 2. Half-time was called shortly ■after-wards.— '.. _ ... . Waterside attacked, on. the.resumption of play, and a shot from Dunsmuir was turned for a corner by Turkington. Within a short time Dunsinuir repeated his effort, this time with more success, the leather flying past Turkington. Marist 4, Waterside 3. Waterside made the most use of the helping wind, and kept up the attack. A shot from Longbottom hit the cross-bar, and then Ferguson netted from a corner kick.' 4-4. Waterside took the lead in the next few minutes, a high shot Cummings being carried into the net'over Turkington's head by the wind. Waterside 5, Marist 4. Marist endeavoured to shift play to Watersiders' half, but were unable to do so. Another Waterside attack saw, the Marist goalie extended, and Longbottora netted following a tussle on the goal-line. Waterside 6, Marist 4. Burke broke away in the last five minutes and transferred to Hawken, but Marist could get nothing better than a corner. The effort was followed by one from Condon, who rah half the length of the field. He passed to Burke and the latter netted. Waterside 6, Marist 5. There was no further score.. '. ■ ': -
