SUPPLY AND DEMAND
PRICE CONTROL FAILS
(Received 9th April, 9 a.m.) CHICAGO, Sth April. President James Ct Murray, of the Chicago Board of Trade, declared to-day that the stabilisation programme of the United States Farm Board has failed completely to attempt to maintain markets on any satisfactory level. Addressing the Chicago Association of Commerce he said the Farm Board's operations have resulted in accumulations which are a menace to the coming crops. The passage of the Agricultural Marketing Act, intended to benefit the farmer, had admittedly failed in its purpose._ Ably managed by honest men, the operation of the Act had again demonstrated the futility of interference with the normal action and reaction to the law of supply and demand.
