OVERSEAS MARKETS
FOR BRITISH MOTORS
Reviewing trading conditions generally, Mr. J. H. Toulniin, chairman Leyland Motors, Ltd., at the annual meeting in London, said the directors continued to attach considerable importance to the overseas markets as an outlet for the company's! products, but that owing to abnormal conditions throughout the world, trade, both at Home and overseas, had been accompanied by many difficult problems. The immediate outlook was not very promising so far as the overseas markets were concerned, but he thought the result of the year was highly satislac; tory. and stated that, since the close ot the financial year, the company's turnover had been well maintained. He referred to the keenness of, competition for the lessened number \ot orders now being placed, but said the company s present order book was satisfactory. Two of the directors had recently made tours abroad, one to Canada and the other to Australia and New Zealand,, where friendly contacts* had been made and information obtained which would be ot great value to the company.
