MESSAGE FOR WIFE
NEW ZEALANDER KILLED
MOTOR-CAR SMASH
(Received 3rd December, 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Crushed in a ear smash between Bega and Cobargo, Andrew Smith, aged 45, a New Zealauder, gave a farewell message for his wife and family, and then died in his friend's arms. With John Mornington, also a New Zealander, he was motoring from Melbourne when the car somersaulted twice over an embankment. Mornington was not injured. "I am dying," said Smith. "Cable to my wife and family." Tie then fell back lifeless.
