PLIMMERTON BOATING CLUB.
The Pliinmei'ton Boating Club's season was opened on Saturday. Among the .large gathering were Mr. Hooker, o£ the Heretaunga Boating Club, Mr. Murphy, of the Worser Bay Boating Olub, and Mr. Huggins, of tho Paremata Boating Club, >yhose remarks in reply to the commodore's opening address were listened to with great interest. Mr. Huggins, in a very happy vein, recalled the inception of the- club five years ago. The boys' dinghy race and ladies' rowing race proved attractive events. Pour boats of the club's fleet also took tho water, and added their quota to the afternoon's entertainment. Mr. Groves's beautiful launeli Dawn, bedecked in bunting, dropped anchor at Karehana Bay at 3 p.m., and was greatly admired. In the evening a very successful dance was held, for which th-e music was. provided by the' club's orchestra.
