The Takapuna Boating Cliib, holders of the Cornwell Cup, has received challenges for the cup from Otago, Christchnrch, Lyttclton, Wellington, Tauranga, Whangavei, Manukau,. and Hamilton.: JS'apier iind PJimmcrton also arc : expected to challenge, and with Auckland "again defending the cup the contest should be the most interesting on record.
The heavy weather on Sunday resulted in a. postponement of the Cornwell Cup trials until next Sunday. If conditions arc again unfavourable, it is likely that Hie- races, which arc for the purpose of deciding upon Wellington's frcw at the Cornwell Cup contest at, Auckland, will not bo completed until after Christmas.
