ONE FOR THE COAST
OLIVE NELSON TEOTS WELL
Olive Nelson, who won the Whiteleigu Handicap, is owned on the West Coast, being trained on the beach at Karamea. She is a very fine trotter by Nelson Bingen, and has several victories to her credit on the Coast. Although well backed on the first day, she did not trot well, but in to-day's race she never looked like being beaten once the field entered on the last quarter of a mile. White Satin, who went badly on the first day, was again well backed, and trotted a much better race. She moved away well, but made a mistake nearly five furlongs from home. She quickly struck her gait again, and finished very fast. It was the best race she has run at Addington. and she will win the first time she goes without a mistake. The grey mare Fifa, who finished third, went steadily all the way, and improved on her first day's effort. Surprise Journey, who was favourite, showed a great burst of speed, but he stopped badly in the last furlong, finishing fourth. I rampcrisp went a surprisingly good race. He was always near the front, and stayed on better than ever to finish in fifth place.
