STAMINA WINS OUT
SUNNY 808 PACES STRONGLY Sunny Bob's stamina gave him the victory in the November Handicap. He is a strong pacer., but not sound. The going seemed to suit him, as he paced with plenty of freedom. Steel 111 is evidently coming back to his best form.- The Australian.bred pacer was first tried over long courses, but, as he failed, .attention was. turned to sprinting events, in which•" he was seen, to better. advantage. In to-day's race he paced solidly all the way and ran out the two miles really well. The Oamaru-trained Nelson de Oro was an expensive failure. He was in front early and held his place till the straight was reached, but the final furlong found him out, and third was the best return he could make.
