WADESTOWN V. KARORI
The newly-formed Karori Chess Club made its first public appearance on Thursday evening, members motoring to Wadestown to try conclusions with the local club in a 10-a-side match. At the refreshment interval Mr. H. Godtschalk, the local captain, tendered a cordial welcome to the visitors, and expressed the pleasure that his team felt in being Karori's first opponents. In returning thanks for the hospitality extended to his .side, Mr. A. W. Gyles endorsed Mr. Godtschalk's hope that this fixture would flourish in the years to come.
