EUATOKI CHEESE FACTORY
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHAKATANE, This Day. The new cheese factory at Euatoki was opened yesterday- by Sir Apirana Ngata in the presence of a large gathering^ of pakehas and Natives. The building, in ferro-concrete, is modern in every respect and cost £6000. The plant cost £3000. Mr. Ngata stated that as the result of recent legislation, it was intended to assist the Natives at Euatoki by consolidating their titles, thus enabling them to raise finance to purchase cattle grass seed, and manures. Mr. Walter Eeid, chairman of the Opouriao and Euatoki Dairy Company referred to the capacity of the Native' farmers as suppliers. With financial assistance, he said, they would be enabled to improve their farms and increase production.
