WELLINGTON LADIES' CLUB

The annual report of the Wellington Ladies' Amateur Athletic Club states-that the past season was a successful one from the competitors' point of view, and there were a large number of competitors in the ladies' events at each sports meeting. ■ Miss Miller, by gaining most points throughout the season, holds the Peat Pendant. The only field event held was won by Miss Sharp, who therefore has the Parsons rose 'bowl.

At a Hutt sports meeting a team comprising Misses Miller, Blatherwick, Sharp, and Edwards won the Riddiford Cup, and each member o£ the team was presented with a miniature cup.

During the season a visit was paid to Gisborne, Misses Willson, Sharp, Blathevwick, and Edwards representing the club. The girls did well while* away, and won back the Eteveneaux Cup in the good time o£ 53 4-ssec. Visits were nlso paid to Wa.gariui and Motueka, where tKe cliib nien>< bers won many events. ■.-..,

Miss S, Swinburne, of. the club, was selected as the queen representing the sports bodies in the carnival held to obtain funds for the National Arc Gallery and Dominion Museum, and filled second place in the poll. Thanks are extended to the Wellington Centre for its help last season; the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club, for the way it furthered the club's interests; to those who billeted visitors during the season; and to all others who assisted the club. .
