ADMISSION OF ASIATICS
A complaint by the White New Zealand League concerning the admission of Asiatics to New Zealand has been answered by the Minister of Customs (the Hon. W. B. Taverner), who telegraphed to-day to Mr. Parvin, secretary of tho league, at Pukekohc, stating that investigations have revealed that the league is under a misapprehension. No new Asiatics, he states, have been admitted as permanent residents. Twelve who came in were returned New Zealand residents, nine were admitted for short periods as visitors, and nine were refused admission.
