CABINET RESIGNS
GENERAL ELECTION SOON

"The Times" correspondent at Alexandria says that owing to the new Egyptian crisis the Prime Minister, Mnbnvud Pasha,' had an audience with tho King at noon, and will now hand in the resignations of the whole of the Cabinet.
'A goueral election under direct suffrago law is expected, but it is still uncortain whether the Wafd, now that [it has tviumphed in securing Mahmud'a elimination, will agree that the proposed treaty will be the basis of the election. The Wnfd is sure of a-ma-jority whatever oleetion law is adopted. AlHlimiid's resignation thus means a return to Parliamentary life with a Wafd Cabinet in ofiice to deal with the treaty in tho new Parliament.
