LOCAL CONTROL

The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last night, Mi-. W. B. Hicks presiding. . Members of the Management Committee present were:—Messrs. G. Aers, J. M. Coleman, F. Mackie, E. W. Heath, L. Mellor, H. Spokky, S. C. Shedden, A. J. Nimmo, R. J. Weir, J. Kean, and B. A. Mabin (secretary). Messrs. Mackie and Mellor were appointed to represent the W.F.A. at the civic reception to the Australian hockey team. It was decided to play the Marist v. 'Waterside 2nd A division match at the end of the season. The replay of the Chatham Cup match, V.M.C.A. v. Petone, will take place on the 27th July at the Basin Reserve No. 1 ground. In connection with the workshops tournament, it was reported that several teams had entered. To allow further entries, it was decided to extend closing date until next Wednesday at 5 p.m. The fixtures for Saturday, 27th. July, are as follows:— First A Division. Waterside v. Diamond, Basin Roserve No. 2. Institute v. Marist, Kelburn Park. Hospital v. Thistle, Hospital Ground. First B Division. Hutfc v. Thistle, Hutt Recreation Ground. Seatoun v. South Wellington, Seatoun. Petone v. Johnsonville, Petone Recreation Ground. Swifts v. Brooklyn, Wakefield Park No. 2 Ground. The team for Aucldand will leave tomorrow in charge of Mr. W. B. Hicks. R. Bird, of Marist, will replace J. Campbeli (Petone) as centre half.
