WESTPORT WHARF
The Minister of Public "Works (the Hon. E. A. Eansom) stated to-day that information had been received from Mr. Sharp indicating that the "Westport Wharf is safe for shipping. Mr. Sharp's telegraphic report to the Minister reads as follows:—• "Close inspection .reveals that stringers, caps, and bracing all sound. One pile shattered. Tops of three piles crushed and three tie rods broken. Lower end of structure out of alignment, but wholew-harf safe for berthing ships."
