DISTRICT NURSING GUILD

At the first meeting of the District Nursing Guild of, St.; John for the year, it was reported that Sister Bettany was now on the staff as third district nurse. The cases requiring attention aro increasing rapidly as tho city grows and appreciation of the services of tho sisters i 3 frequently ' received. The president (Mrs.i Albert Staee) reported on the keen interest taken in the guild's work by the members of the' St.' John delegation, who visited the rooms, and saw'tho, work being done. "Mrs. Atkinson remarked how pleased sho was to see the Order of St. John having district nurses, as in London' that branch of nursing is done by Queen Alexandra's nurses and not by St. John.

The sisters reported that with some subscriptions given by friends and lamb by Mr. Whale, nine,poor families had been supplied with a good Christmas dinner.
