BIG BILLIARDS

SOME' EXCELLENT BREAKS As the billiards match between Walter Liiidrum and Clark M'Conaehy progresses .the form of the contestants is accounting for frequent additions to the long list of achievements to the credit of both players. Big breaks are the order of each session, and yesterday Lindrum kept going in one effort till he reached 755. This break had been necessary in order to enable him to retain the lead, as during the afternoon session M'Conachy, displaying excellent I form, had taken the lead with a series of good breaks, including one of 475 made in very quick time. The match offers a rare treat; as the exponents are among the world's best; in fact, Lindrum is looked upon as the greatest scoring player the world has seen, and M'Conachy has given ample evidence of his ability to extend the world's champion. The position of the match, which is being played at the Midland Billiards Parlour, Manners street, is Lindrum 7489, M'Conachy G972 (in play). The best breaks yesterday were 755, 180, 131, and 308 by Lindrum, and 222, 153, 475, 231, 141, and 207 (unfinished) by V'c°aachy. Play is being continued this afternoon and to-night, and will go on daily until 18,000 is reached. At each session a competition is held for spectators, and an added attraction for to-morrow will be ex-' hibition shots by Lindrum.
